18 May: International Museum Day - IMD, promoted every year since 1977 worldwide by ICOM (International Council of Museum) to highlight the importance of the role of museums as institutions at the service of society and its development.

The theme of the 2020 edition is to create awareness of the role of museums as an important means of cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures and development of mutual understanding, cooperation and peace among peoples.
